A newly reintroduced bill in the Florida House would require counties to proactively notify homeowners and heirs when surplus funds are generated from foreclosure sales.
“We believe no one should lose equity just because they didn’t know it was owed to them,” said the bill’s sponsor.
The proposed law would mandate mailed, emailed, and online surplus fund notifications for every qualifying foreclosure.
