Orlando, FL – April 2025
Florida’s statewide foreclosure refund hotline has seen a surge in call volume as more homeowners discover they may be entitled to surplus equity refunds after losing their property. Most callers are unaware the court may still be holding money in their name.
“These are people who thought it was over — then found out they’re owed $20,000 or more,” said a hotline coordinator.
The hotline is now operating extended hours to meet rising demand for case checks and live support.

Equity Recovery Support Expanded to Florida Foster Youth and System-Impacted Heirs
Fort Lauderdale, FL – April 2025
Young adults aging out of foster care and individuals raised in informal family arrangements may still qualify for surplus equity refunds — especially if their names appear in foreclosure or probate records. Recovery groups are now offering specialized assistance to this overlooked group.
“Heirs don’t need a formal will or relationship title — they just need the facts and paperwork,” said a family claim advisor.
Support is now being offered at transitional housing centers and social services hubs.

The funding covers service costs in 24 counties with high foreclosure rates and unclaimed funds.
