Palm Beach, FL — As the Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) program nears a funding cliff, up to 60,000 vulnerable Americans could lose rental assistance—worsening the nation’s affordable housing crisis.
The program, introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic, was a lifeline for low-income renters, veterans, seniors, and those escaping domestic violence. But without renewed federal support, many could face eviction or homelessness.
“Programs like EHV are vital, not optional,” said representatives from The Foreclosure Focus, a national advocate for foreclosure prevention and surplus fund recovery. “This is a pivotal moment. If policymakers don’t act, we’ll see another wave of housing instability ripple across the country.”
The Foreclosure Focus is calling on lawmakers to restore and expand federal rental assistance programs, while offering direct support to families navigating foreclosures, evictions, and property loss.
