Palm Beach County and several others have implemented new systems to speed up surplus equity processing, allowing former homeowners to reclaim funds faster. Equity recovery groups have adapted by offering rapid refund options to meet demand.
“The system is finally catching up with what people need — fast, fair equity access,” said one fund coordinator.
Documents, filings, and even notarizations can now be done remotely in many counties.
