Former homeowners in Palm Beach County are missing out on surplus funds that are later claimed by HOAs, judgment creditors, or municipalities. Under Florida law, these entities can file claims on the remaining money if the homeowner doesn’t act fast.
“The law prioritizes homeowners, but if they don’t file — others will,” explained foreclosure attorney Danielle Paige.
